The Zillertal Alps are characterized by unique flora and fauna. In addition to rare wild animals, you can also find brightly colored alpine flowers such as gentian, edelweiss and arnica, and occasionally orchids. Numerous paths to mountain inns, mountain pastures and mountain huts offer nature lovers, hikers, mountaineers and climbers numerous opportunities to practice their sport.
The Zillertal Alps, which have been under protection since 1991 and have been awarded the title of "nature park" since 2001, offer countless mountain tours.
This nature park is the first nature park in Tyrol. The specially founded association for the nature park management is unique in this form. It tries to implement sustainable development and natural economy that bring harmony to tourism and environment.
The protected area extends over 400km2 south of Mayrhofen across the entire Zillertal Alps main ridge - from the Zillergrund to the Tux Valley. It comprises several glaciated “three-thousand meter peaks”, the highest of which is the Hochfeiler (3510m). The nature park offers an extremely varied summer program with various guided hikes.
The range of via ferratas of various levels of difficulty is large. There is something for every climber: via ferrata on Zimmereben, via ferrata on Penken and the Nasenwand route in Ginzling or the via ferrata Schlegeis 131.
Cyclists and mountain bikers will find plenty of opportunities to do their favorite sport in our valley. The Zillertal bike path is an easy, family-friendly bike route along the Ziller river. Bicycles can be borrowed during the opening hours at the occupied train stations of the Zillertalbahn railways (Fügen-Hart / Zell am Ziller / Mayrhofen). You can easily transport your own bike on the train.
Condition-strong cyclists can venture into higher areas and undertake demanding tours up to 2000m, such as a tour to the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. In addition, all 4 rear side valleys of the Zillertal (Zillergrund, Stilluppgrund, Zemmgrund and Tuxertal) can be reached by bike. In many huts charging stations are available for e-bikers.
The outdoor pool with water slide, sports pool, children's pool and large sunbathing area ensures cool moments on hot summer days and can be reached from our house in only three minutes.
The indoor pool offers a giant water slide, crazy river slide, water flow channel, bubble bath and many other attractions. There is also a sauna area with 90 ° and 60 ° sauna, infrared cabin, solarium and steam bath.
The spacious leisure area includes a soccer field made of artificial turf, a basketball court, as well as beach volleyball courts and a spacious children's playground with slides, sand playgrounds, climbing frames and a skate bowl for skateboard fans.
An insider tip for hot summer days is the forest playground in the Scheulingwald forest, where children can let off steam and pass the time with water games.
The list of leisure activities in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region can be continued with activities such as canyoning, rafting, tubing or paragliding, which are offered by various action clubs in the area.
